This mission will visit scientific centers, parks and installations, in Catalonia and Basque Country. A second visit is planned for the second half of 2017, when similar institutions will be visited in Castile and Andalusia. The members of the mission come from Daejeon, considered the Science City in South Korea. The aim of the two visits is to continue a process of bilateral knowledge that INEUSTAR begun two years ago, as well as to strengthen the dialogue among scientific companies and institutions in both countries. The main goal is to foster cooperation in the field of science and industry, related to big scientific installations.

Daejeon (1.5 million) has 18 universities, including the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), the Chungnam, Hanbat and Hannam National Universities, and the Korean Science and Technology University. Daejeon is considered one of the Asian “Sillicon Valleys” and as “High Tech City”. The RAON (Korean rare isotope accelerator) is within its influence area.
