Business visit to CERN of the Basque Government's Vice consejería de Tecnología, Innovación y Competitividad

On March, Monday 19th, a mission led by the Viceconsejera Estibaliz Hernaez and composed by members of her department as well as the Director Generals from BIC-Araba and INEUSTAR, visited CERN (Geneva, Switzerland).

The aim of the visit was to get to know CERN's characteristics, facilities and projects in general; as well as the different activities that are taking place in the field of knowledge transfer to the industrial sector, in particular. All this, focused towards exploring possible collaborations between startups from Basque Country and CERN, under the umbrella of the INEUSTAR-Pioneers program that the Spanish Science Industry Association, INEUSTAR, is promoting and encouraging in collaboration -in the Basque Country- with BIC-Araba. Several proposals of the use of CERN technologies by Basque startups are being analyzed for their eventual participation in the aforementioned program INEUSTAR-Pioneers.

During the mission, the CMS -one of the big 4 LHC's (Large Hadron Collider) instruments- was visited.
